Uroflowmetry

Uroflowmetry, also known as Uroflow, is a diagnostic test used to assess the rate and volume of voided urine. This procedure allows for the measurement of urine flow through the urethra during voiding. The patient urinates into a special device that records the speed and volume of the expelled urine. Uroflowmetry results provide important information about the function of the urinary system, including potential obstructions in the urinary tract or weakness of the bladder muscles. This test is often used in the diagnosis of urinary system disorders such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, urethral strictures, or neurogenic bladder disorders. After analyzing the results of uroflowmetry, the doctor may recommend appropriate treatment or therapy for the patient.
