Sven Nikles, M.D.
Sven Nikles was born in Pakrac, where he completed elementary and high school in his hometown. In 2014, he graduated from the The University of Zagreb School of Medicine.
After completing his studies, he briefly worked as a family medicine physician at the Zagreb Health Center. In 2015, he began his residency in urology at the Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Centre, which he completed in 2020. Since then, he has been working as a urology consultant at the same clinic.
During his residency, he participated in numerous domestic and international congresses, often actively contributing with abstracts and lectures. He has published several papers in domestic and international indexed journals and attended numerous courses to continuously improve his professional skills.
His main area of interest is urological oncology.
He was the representative of Croatian urology residents, and from 2017 to 2020 served as the treasurer of the European Society of Residents in Urology.
He started his PhD thesis on the topic of magnetic resonance of the prostate for prostate cancer diagnosis at the School of Medicine in Zagreb. He has published several scientific papers on the same topic in indexed journals and participated in multicentric prospective studies. He actively participates in the work of a multidisciplinary oncology team every week.
He is an active member of the European and Croatian Urological Societies and contributes regularly to the community through humanitarian work in the Lions Club Agram, of which he has been an active member since 2019.
Since 2020, he has been actively involved in middle-distance and long-distance triathlons through the Triathlon Club Swibir. In 2022, he successfully completed an IRONMAN.
