Prof. Gordana Ivanac, M.D., Ph. D.
Associate professor Gordana Ivanac was born in Zagreb, where she attended elementary school and high school in Mathematical Gymnasium. She graduated at University of Zagreb School of Medicine (UZSM) in 1997. She was intern in Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases Jordanovac. After that she was employed as research trainee at Department of Nuclear Medicine, Universtiy Hospital Dubrava. She finished scientific postgraduate study from Biomedicine at UZSM, and she defended master of science thesis and doctoral thesis at the UZSM.
She was resident in radiology at University Hospital Dubrava between 2001 and 2006 when she passed the board exam. She is working as board certified radiologist in UH Dubrava since 2006. She passed subspecialist exam in ultrasound in 2009. From 2009-2014 she was chief of the Unit for Breast Imaging and Musculoskeletal Radiology of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology UH Dubrava. Since 2014 she is chief of the Diagnostic Radiology Unit of the Department. She is associate professor of radiology at UZSM since 2020.
Prof. Ivanac is part of the team of the Center for Radiology and Diagnostics at St. Catherine Specialty Hospital, and her areas of work are breast ultrasound, breast magnetic resonance imaging and mammography.
She was researcher at three finished scientific projects of Ministry of Science of Croatia and is currently researcher on two active projects, one of which is funded by Croatian Science Foundation. She is author/ coauthor of over 30 published scientific and professional papers. She is author on one chapter in the international textbook and of 19 chapters in Croatian books. She was the mentor at several graduate papers and doctoral disertations at UZSM.
She participated at several domestic and international congresses and meetings with 120 abstracts (76 at international meetings). She had 50 invited lectures at domestic and international congresses. She underwent visiting fellowship in breast imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA.
She is reviewer in several international and domestic scientific journals.
She is vice-president of the Croatian Society of Radiology, and vice-president of Croatian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. She is member of the European Society of Radiology, Croatian Medical Association, Croatian Medical Chamber, Adriatic Vascular Ultrasound Society, European Society of Urogenital Radiology, Central European Vascular Forum, European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology, European Society of Breast Imaging.
