Assistant Professor Mladen Japjec, M.D., Ph.D.
He was born in Zagreb in 1978. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2003. After a short work as a doctor in the Emergency Department, in 2005 started with a specialization in General Surgery at the Clinical Hospital Merkur in Zagreb and in 2009 he passed the specialist exam. In 2013 he completed the subspecialization in Traumatology and Orthopedics.
In 2019 he completed the postgraduate university study of Biology at the Faculty of Science in Zagreb and obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science. In 2020 he was elected a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Surgery of the Medical Faculty in Zagreb.
He is a member of the Croatian Medical Chamber, the Croatian Surgical Society, the Croatian Traumatological Society and AOTRAUMA. During his professional education in 2012 attended a two-month education at the University Hospital in Ljubljana and from 2008-2015 on several occasions in individual weekly courses at the Anatomical Institute in Graz, Austria and AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für osteosynthesefragen) training center in Davos, Switzerland. After completing the AO teacher training course in Budapest, Hungary in 2011 he acquired the title of AO teacher and became part of the Croatian AO educational team that annually organizes international traumatology courses in Zagreb.
Throughout his professional education, he has been involved in sports. Since 2005 he is a licensed doctor of the Croatian Football Association and have participated in the work of medical teams of several football clubs. From 2018 he is a member of the COC medical team.
