Gordana Čižmek, D.M.D.
Dr. Gordana Čižmek graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, in 1995. From the very beginning of her career, she has been dedicated to comprehensive dental care for children, adolescents, and adults, with a strong focus on prevention, proper orofacial development, and modern orthodontics. Through many years of work in paediatric, preventive, and orthodontic dentistry, she has developed extensive clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the functional and aesthetic requirements involved in planning and delivering orthodontic treatment.
In 2008, she completed her specialisation in paediatric and preventive dentistry at the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, followed by a successful completion of her orthodontic and dentofacial orthopaedics specialisation in 2013. During her specialist training and subsequent clinical work, she performed complex diagnostics, interceptive orthodontic treatments, and fixed appliance therapies, and collaborated within multidisciplinary treatment protocols for patients of various age groups.
In 2014, she began her own private practice under Gordana Čižmek OrtoDental s.p., where she developed a highly individualised approach to orthodontic care and gradually focused her work exclusively on orthodontics. In 2019, she founded OrthoDental, the first orthodontic centre in the region dedicated entirely to invisible orthodontics. The centre is based on cutting-edge digital technologies, precise treatment planning, and minimally invasive aesthetic solutions for both adult and younger patients. Dr. Čižmek leads the centre with particular emphasis on discreet, comfortable, and highly effective orthodontic systems.
She actively participates in professional education and conferences in Slovenia and abroad, including numerous orthodontic seminars, symposia, and European orthodontic congresses. She continues to refine her expertise in digital orthodontics, bite stability, skeletal anchorage, the Damon system, and other contemporary therapeutic approaches.
Dr. Gordana Čižmek is a member of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, the European Orthodontic Society, the Association of Dental Care Professionals, and has been a member of the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine since 2025. With more than twenty years of experience and a strong focus on aesthetic and digital orthodontics, she is regarded as one of Slovenia’s leading experts in invisible orthodontic treatments and modern orthodontic protocols.
