Trpimir Vrdoljak, M.D.
Dr. Vrdoljak is a fellowship-trained specialist in sports medicine, arthroscopy, biological implants as well as in total joint replacement of the hip and knee. He finished Medical School in Zagreb in 1998. After internship, until 2007, he was working as a physician in the Sports Clinic of the Zagreb Sports Association. Dr. Vrdoljak completed his residency in orthopedics at the Clinical Hospital “Holly Spirit” in Zagreb, in 2012. During residency program, dr. Vrdoljak was working in Switzerland as an EFORT’s fellow. Constantly, during specialization and later, as an orthopedic surgeon, he attended trainee courses of the highest category, perfecting his surgical techniques and skills.
Between 2005 and 2014, dr. Vrdoljak was a lecturer at the Football Academy of the Croatian Football Association for two courses: Functional anatomy and Injuries of the musculoskeletal system. During a medical career, he was working with the top athletes in terms of prevention and treatment of acute and chronic injuries. Dr. Vrdoljak is the physician of the Croatian national athletic team, both, male and female as well as of the Croatian national volleyball team. In 2012 and 2013, he was Marcos Baghdatis personal physician at the ATP tour and he was also personal physician to many other professional and amateur athletes.
The primary focus of his interests includes: arthroscopic hip, knee and shoulder surgery, a conservative treatment of acute and chronic injuries of the musculoskeletal system as well as arthroplasty surgery of hip, shoulder and knee. Dr. Vrdoljak was pioneering application of PRP therapy (for treatment of acute and chronic injuries of muscles and joints) in Croatia. Dr. Vrdoljak joined Specialty Hospital St. Catherine in April 2016.
