Prim. Vedran Pažur, M.D., Ph.D.
Born in Zagreb in 1977. Graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2004. After a short assignment as a doctor in the Croatian Institute for Public Health, he started General Surgery residency at the Clinical Hospital Merkur, Zagreb in 2006. In 2010 he passed the specialist exam, and in 2013 completed the subspecialization in Vascular Surgery.
In 2018 he obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science (PhD) in biomedicine at School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. In 2021 he was elected as research associate at Ministry of Science.
Prim. Vedran Pažur, M.D., Ph.D. works in Clinical Hospital Merkur as head of the Department of Vascular Surgery from 2019. He is also a researcher in clinical studies and projects to improve further implementation of recent findings in clinical practice.
He is assigned as faculty in ESVS Academy course. Also, he is invited speaker in many domestic and international courses and meetings. He organises multidisciplinary vascular meeting in Zagreb.
He is a member of the Croatian Medical Chamber, Croatian Surgical Society, Croatian Vascular Surgery Society, European Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and International Union of Angiology. During his professional education, he attended surgery seminars of Weill Cornell University Surgery and Emergency Surgery, endovascular courses of ESVS and Metronic Academy.
His areas of work are: minimally invasive vascular surgery and personalised medicine, aortic surgery, carotid surgery, peripheral artery surgery and minimally invasive vein surgery.
Throughout his professional pathway, he has been involved in sports. He was a club doctor of Ice Hockey team Medvescak and Croatia national hockey team.
