Prim. Damir Hodžić, M.D., Ph.D.
He graduated in 1988 from the School of Medicine, University in Zagreb. He passed the specialist exam in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2000, the subspecialist exam in Urogynecology in 2013, and earned the title of primarius in 2014. He completed the scientific postgraduate study "Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics," and in 2001 earned the scientific degree of Master of Science. After completing the doctoral study "Biomedicine and Health" in 2014, he earned the scientific degree of Doctor of Science.
Since 2015, he has been an external associate of the Department of Pediatrics. and Gynecology with Obstetrics at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek, and is now in the status of senior assistant. Until 2021, he was employed at the University Hospital Merkur in Zagreb, at the Department of Gynecological Urology, and then continued to engage in private medical practice in the professional areas of urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecological surgery, as well as in integrative, aesthetic, and regenerative gynecology.
He is the author of numerous professional and scientific papers in indexed journals, chapters in textbooks, congress proceedings, and popular professional articles.
He actively participates in international professional and scientific meetings, as well as professional courses and workshops in prestigious European, Asian, and South American centers.
He was the secretary of the Croatian Society for Gynecological Endoscopy and a lecturer at the Postgraduate Course in Gynecological Surgery and Endoscopy. He was also a member of the Croatian Society for Gynecological Urology and the Mediterranean Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Society. As an active member of the Croatian League Against Cancer, he was the secretary and president of some of its city and county branches. He is the founder and president of the Croatian Society for Pelviperineology and a lecturer at the Postgraduate Course in Pelvic Medicine.
He joined the team of the Center for Women's Health of St. Catherine Specialty Hospital in the beginning of 2025.
