Marina Lampalo, M.D., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Specialist in Internal Medicine and Subspecialist in Pulmonology

Marina Lampalo, M.D., Ph.D. graduated from School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2001. She began her specialization in Internal medicine in September 2003 and passed the specialist exam in March 2008. In 2010 she passed the subspecialist exam in pulmonology.

Since March 2008 she has been working as a specialist of internal medicine, and since 2010 as a subspecialist of pulmonology at the Clinic for Lung Diseases Jordanovac - Department of Obstructive and Allergic Diseases.

She became a Doctor of Science in 2017 in the field of natural sciences at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, defending her dissertation entitled "The effect of ABO blood genotypes and tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor on lung ventilation in asthma“.

She is an active member of the Croatian Thoracic Society, Croatian Respiratory Society, European Respiratory Society, Croatian Medical Association and the Croatian Medical Chamber. She has actively participated in numerous domestic and international scientific and professional conferences.

Marina Lampalo, M.D., Ph.D. is the main organizer of the Severe Asthma Forum for Southeast and Central Europe, which took place in December 2019 in Zagreb. She is also the organizer of the course "Allergic Diseases" which is intended for the education of general practitioners and pulmonologists. In 2018, she participated in the ERS spirometry workshop, and obtained a European license for an educator in the field of pulmonary function. In March 2019, she acquired the title of primarius.

So far, she has published several scientific and professional papers. She has participated in numerous domestic and international scientific and professional conferences, especially in the field of pulmonology and allergology. She has also actively participated in congresses and gatherings organized by the Croatian Thoracic Society, as well as in the International Congress of the European Respiratory Society, the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress.

Marina Lampalo, M.D., Ph.D. is the winner of the Toraks Award for Best Scientific Work in 2016. Since 2019 she has been a research associate at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and since October 2020 she has been elected as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Health Studies, University of Rijeka. The narrower area she has been dealing with for many years is obstructive lung diseases - primarily asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as lung function and allergic diseases.
