Maida Seferović, M.D., Ph.D.

Maida Seferović graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb. After traineeship at Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče, she worked as a Clinical Research Monitor at Merck Sharp & Dohme d.o.o. in Zagreb.

Since 2003 she has been employed at General Hospital Zabok and Hospital of Croatian Veterans, first as a medical doctor in the internal and emergency department, and since 2005 as a resident at the Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Centre. In 2010 she passed the specialist exam. She obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) in 2018 from the Faculty of Science of the University of Zagreb, with the topic of the doctoral dissertation "The role of thyroid hormones in carotid wall remodeling and lipid metabolism”. In 2021 she obtained the title of an Assistant at the Undergraduate University Study of Nursing in Pregrada, at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and in 2022 a title of Primarius.

Her specific area of interest is in the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, migraines and other neurological diseases.

She is the author and co-author of several scientific articles published in indexed journals and several conference presentations. She is an active participant in national and international professional and scientific meetings. She gave several lectures and trainings on the treatment of stroke and in the occasion of public health campaigns: "World Stroke Day", "Brain Week", "Go Red for Women”, "World Health Day”, etc.

She is a member of the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Medical Chamber, HUBOL, the Croatian Neurological Society, the Croatian Society for the Prevention of Stroke, the Professional Council of OB Zabok and the Croatian Veterans Hospital.
