Jelena Bošnjak, M.D., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, Specialist Neurologist, Subspecialist in Epileptology

Jelena Bošnjak, M.D., Ph.D. graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2002, after which she specialized in neurology at the Clinic of Neurology, KBC "Sestre milosrdnice" in Zagreb. From 2008 to 2015, she worked at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy, KBC "Sestre milosrdnice". In 2011 she became a doctor of science in the field of neurophysiology (visual evoked potentials). Since 2014 she is a senior research associate at the Medical Faculty, University of Zagreb. By the decision of the Ministry of Health in 2020, he became a subspecialist in the field of epileptology and with the recognition of the name Primarius. In November 2022 she was elected to the scientific-teaching position of assistant professor.

She participated in domestic and international congresses as a lecturer, in postgraduate courses of the 1st category of the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb and in undergraduate classes at the Dentistry Faculty, Educational Rehabilitation and Kinesiology, University of Zagreb. For her scientific work, she was awarded the Rector's Award of the University of Zagreb and the United Kingdom Association of Alumni and Friends of Croatian Universities. He is the author of several scientific papers, eight of which are indexed in the Current Contents database. He is the author of three chapters in professional books in neurology. She completed her education in electromyoneurography at the Institute of Clinical Neurophysiology, Clinical Hospital Center in Ljubljana for 3 months. In the field of epileptology she was educated within the programs of the European Society of Neurology EFNS at Christian Doppler Clinic in Salzburg for 2 months. She completed an online course "Virtual Epilepsy Academy" in electroencephalography as part of the ILAE (International League Against Epilepsy) education program. In 2016, she completed an acupuncture course organized by the Croatian Acupuncture Society.

She is an active member of the Croatian League Against Epilepsy, Croatian Society for Neuroscience, FENS (Federation of Neurological Societies), IBRO (International Brain Research Organization), International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), Croatian Society for Neurovascular Disorders, Croatian Medical Association, Croatian Neurological Society and the Croatian Society for Neuromuscular Diseases.

In 2021 she joins the team of the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital.
