Davor Moravek, M.D., M. Sc. joined the team of St. Catherine Specialty Hospital in early 2022.
Davor Moravek, M.D., M. Sc. graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb and has a master's degree in Human Genetics. He completed a specialization in psychiatry - General psychiatry, and after that a subspecialization in Alcoholism and other addictions. From 1996 to 2016 he worked at the Clinic for Psychiatry, Alcoholism and Other Addictions of the University Clinical Hospital Center 'Sestre Milosrdnice' in Zagreb. As a lecturer, he participates in domestic and international congresses and a number of professional educations in English, German, Dutch and Russian, which he also uses in clinical practice. From 2016 to 2021, he worked in the Netherlands as a psychiatrist in the clinical department of Social psychiatry and on an outpatient basis.
Experience includes working with first psychoses, long-term care, dual diagnoses, personality disorders, psychological trauma, and other complex psychological problems. He also intensively conducts online consultations. Special areas of interest are: telepsychiatry; social psychiatry; Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), systematic family therapy, multiple group family therapies; perinatal psychiatry; psychogenomics and psychiatric genetics; consultative psychiatry - psychosomatic diseases, affective disorders, depression, anxiety, differential diagnostics.
He is the author of several scientific papers, books and textbooks, as well as chapters in professional books in the field of psychiatry. As a guest, he participated in television and radio shows and hosted columns in daily newspapers and portals. He is an active member of the Croatian and Dutch Psychiatric Association.
