Damir Erceg M.D., Ph.D.

Damir Erceg M.D., Ph.D. is specialist in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. He graduated at University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 1990. He completed Postgraduate Study in Preclinical Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology at the same Univerity in 1993. and successfully defended MSc thesis. He has 10-years experience in pharmaceutical industry at different fields (preclinical and clinical pharmacology, drug development and pharmacovigilance from 1992.-2002.) in Pliva, one of the leading pharmaceutical company in Southeast Europe. During that period, in 1998. he completed Postgraduate Course in Pharmaceeutical Medicine in UK, organized in collaboration Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff and British Assoscciation of Pharmaceutical Medicine. Damir Erceg M.D., Ph.D. left Pliva in 2002. and started residency in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. He completed residency in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology 2005. From 2006. he is employed in Srebrnjak, Children's Hospital. During the period, from 2007.-2010. was the first director of Croatian Antidoping Agency. Also, he was member of medical team of Croatian Handball and Volleyball Federations, as well as member of Croatian Medical Team during Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. and Mediterranian Games in in Pescara 2009. He received State Award „dr. Franjo Bučar“ in 2015. for his contribution in sport and fight against doping in sport. He defended Ph.D. thesis at University of Rijeka School of Medicine in 2012 . The same year he becomes Head of Clinical Trials Unit Srebrnjak, Children s Hospital. Damir Erceg M.D., Ph.D. is author of a large number of scientific and professional papers in international journals and chapters in University textbooks and books. He is a reviewer for several domestic and international journals. Also, he was a lecturer on many of domestic and international conferences. He is a member of national and international professional associations in the fields of pharmacology, clinical pharmacology and clinical trials. He participates as lecturer at several undergraduate and postgraduate studies at University of Osijek School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine and Health, University of Split School of Medicine, University of Zagreb School of Medicine as well as Croatian Catholic University, Zagreb. Damir Erceg M.D., Ph.D. joined the team of Specialty Hospital “St. Catherine” in March 2019.
