Branko Bogdanic, M.D., Ph. D.
Branko Bogdanic, MD, Ph.D. was born in Zagreb in 1981, where he graduated at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb (2006). He completed his internship at the University Hospital Center Zagreb. For the next year, he works at the Institute of Anthropology, under the supervision of academician Paul Rudan.
At the beginning of 2009, he began residency in general surgery at UHC Zagreb and enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. He received his PhD in July 2013. with the topic Analysis use of antimicrobial drugs and microbiological findings as a method for hospital infections prevalence in a clinical hospital. At the end of 2013 he completed his residency in general surgery and was employed at the Surgical oncology, UHC Zagreb. In 2014 he became a research associate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. In 2018 he finished residency in abdominal/digestive surgery.
He is the co-author of the Guidelines for Transfusion Treatment of Surgical Patients at UHC Zagreb. He teaches many postgraduate studies and postgraduate courses in continuing medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. He has published 7 scientific and professional papers in international, peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters, and over 30 press releases at scientific and professional congresses. He is a member of the Croatian Surgical Society, the Croatian Society of Endoscopic Surgery, the Croatian Society for Accelerated Recovery After Surgery (CRO_ERAS). He was chairman of the congress committee of the 7th Croatian Surgical Congress with international participation. From 2018. Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Acta Chirugica Croatica, the official journal of the Croatian Surgical Society, the Croatian Society for Pediatric Surgery, and the Croatian Society of Endoscopic Surgery. He joined St. Catherine team at the beginning of 2020.
