Assoc. Prof. Dinko Vidović, M.D., Ph.D.
Prof. Vidović graduated at Medical School, the University of Zagreb in 2002. He completed his residency of surgery at University Hospital „Sisters of Mercy“ in Zagreb in 2008. He attended PhD program in Biomedicine and Health Sciences, Medical School, University of Zagreb, and was awarded a Doctoral degree after defending his Doctoral thesis “Periprosthetic bone loss following hemiarthroplasty: a comparison between cemented and cementless hip prosthesis” in 2011. In 2013, he completed his fellowship in trauma surgery. He is the head of Sports Traumatology Department, Clinic of Traumatology, University Hospital „Sisters of Mercy“.
From 2010, he has been working part-time at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, where he was awarded the title of Assistant Professor in 2017. He completed parts of his fellowship at centers of excellence including University Hospitals in Strasbourg, Vienna and Regensburg. During his work, he was involved in clinical research and published in peer review articles. So far he has published 55 articles, 14 of which were indexed in Current Contents (CC). He was involved in numerous orthopedic and trauma international surgery courses. He was the Chairman of „AO Trauma Course Basic principles of fracture management for ORP“ in 2014 and 2018, as well as for „AORecon Course – Principles of Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty“ in Zagreb 2017.
He is a member of professional societies including AO Trauma Europe, European Federation of National Association of Ortopeadics and Traumatology (EFORT), European Society of Sports traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) and Croatian Trauma Society, of which he is a Vice President. He is also the official physician of Basketball Club Cedevita.
Fields of interest of Assoc. Prof. Dinko Vidović are sports traumatology, knee and shoulder surgery.
In July 2020 he joined the team of St. Catherine Specialty Hospital.
