Assis. Prof. Renata Huzjan Korunić, M.D., Ph.D.
Renata Huzjan Korunić was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia, where she finished primary and high school education. She enrolled the Medical University in Zagreb in 1991. where she graduated with excellent success in 1997.
From 1998. to 2001 she worked at Children Hospital Zagreb where she finished education in Use of Color Doppler in intracranial and extracranial circulation as well as the use of ultrasound in detection of early brain damage.
In the 2002. she started the residency in Clinical Radiology at University Hospital Dubrava that she completed in 2008. From 2008. until 2022. she worked as a consultant radiologist at University Hospital Dubrava where she gained extensive experience in clinical work and participated in interdisciplinary meetings on the regular basis.
During 2004./5. she finished fellowship in breast radiology at MSKCC in New York City.
In November 2006. she got her masters degree and in December 2011. Ph.D. in the field of biomedical and health studies at the Medical Faculty at University of Zagreb. In the 2016. she was elected to be an assistant professor of Radiology at Medical faculty at Zagreb University.
As a speaker she attended different congresses in Croatia and abroad and for several years she was engaged as a teacher in the radiology training for students and in postgraduate courses. She is an author and co-author of more than 25 scientific publications many of which are CC and SCI cited and in several book chapters.
She is a member of CMC, HDR, ESR and Croatian Society for Ultrasound in medicine and biology.
The main focus of her work is body imaging and breast imaging for what she attended different dedicated courses in Croatia and abroad.
