Ana Dimova, M. D.
After finishing the Medical faculty, University of Zagreb, she has spent one year in rural Zagreb area working as an ER doctor. Following that, her surgical path begins in the University hospital centre Zagreb in year 2011. In nine years spent there, she acquired a title of General surgery specialist in year 2015 and Digestive/abdominal surgery subspecialist in year 2019.
During her years spent on UHC Zagreb - she held a proctology out patient office, where female patients spontaneously grouped and became a vast majority. This phenomenon is easily understood, given the fact that female abdominal surgeons are rare, and proctologists basically non-existent. Female patients, for some reason, find coping with proctology issues to be less shameful and generally easier with female doctor. During her specialty training, she visited Harvard University’s main surgical hospital - MGH (Boston, Massachusetts), in couple of occasions as a guest researcher in Transplant research laboratory, working on animal models for transplant chimerism. During year 2015 she occasionally works in private surgical clinics in UK (Macclesfield, Manchester, Gatwick, London), as well as in public health institutions (NHS). She is a regular and awarded attendant guest and lecturer at abdominal surgery and proctology expert meetings and congresses. She authors several scientific publications and co-authors couple of international prospective studies in the field of emergency surgery. She has been announced as the "Best Doctor" according to patient votes every year since 2017 (najdoktor.com).
Her narrow area of interest lay in coloproctology, especially colorectal cancer and proctology. A longstanding experience in the settings of One-day surgery department made possible for majority of her proctology and inguinal/umbilical/epigastric hernia patients to be managed as one day surgery cases.
Lives in Zagreb, married and mother of three children.
