Scar treatment
Scars form as part of the natural healing process through which the skin restores its protective function. They may appear after surgical procedures, injuries, wounds caused by diseases (such as infections or autoimmune disorders), acne or burns. Depending on the healing process and individual skin characteristics, scars may be atrophic, hypertrophic, pigmented or mixed.
At the St. Catherine Skin & Regenerative Clinic, scar treatment is based on individually tailored therapeutic protocols that ensure the most natural, even and long-lasting results. Since every scar has a specific cause, structure and depth, our approach is always personalized and adapted to the condition of the skin and the clinical picture of each patient.
Which methods do we use for scar treatment?
Even the smallest scars can have a significant physical and psychological impact on the patient due to their cosmetic appearance. Therefore, we use specific methods that can reduce cosmetically undesirable scars, and for optimal therapeutic outcomes, we often combine several techniques that target different skin layers.
SkinPen microneedling
SkinPen is an FDA-approved microneedling device used to stimulate the skin’s natural regeneration. By creating microchannels in the dermis, this treatment activates natural repair mechanisms, smooths uneven texture, and significantly reduces atrophic acne scars. Treatments are performed in a series, and topical anesthesia may be applied if needed.
Exosome therapy and autologous exosomes
Combining SkinPen or Dermapen microneedling with exosome therapy can deliver even stronger and more visible results, as exosomes further enhance skin regeneration and support the healing process after treatment. Thanks to their rich content of proteins and genetic material, they intensify intercellular communication and tissue repair, which accelerates the skin’s natural recovery. As a result, exosomes contribute to smoothing and softening the texture, as well as reducing the visibility of scars and irregularities, and can be used to treat acne scars, hypertrophic scars, all postoperative scars and scars after cesarean section in women.
Unlike plant-derived or bacterial exosomes, autologous exosomes are obtained from the patient’s own stem cells and blood cells, which makes them fully biocompatible with your body. Autologous exosomes are therefore completely safe, and they stimulate faster skin healing, tissue renewal and strong regeneration at a deeper level, which contributes to restoring the structural integrity of the skin.
RF microneedling
RF microneedling combines the mechanical effect of micro-needles with the thermal energy of radiofrequency to remodel the deeper layers of the dermis. It is an extremely powerful and effective approach for deeper, long-standing and fibrotic scars. With pronounced skin tightening and stronger fibroblast stimulation, it provides results comparable to more aggressive laser methods, but with significantly shorter downtime.
Exion ClearRF
The latest generation of non-invasive RF technology that simultaneously improves skin texture and targets active inflammatory processes. This treatment is ideal for patients seeking noticeable improvement in scar appearance without interrupting their daily activities. It is especially suitable for mild scars and early-stage irregularities.
Viscoderm treatment
Used for bioremodeling and filling depressed atrophic scars. The highly purified hyaluronic formula restores volume to damaged tissue, increases elasticity, and smooths the skin’s surface. It is often applied after microneedling treatments, when the tissue is already softened and prepared for precise filling.
Enzyme treatment (PB serums)
PB serums represent targeted enzymatic therapy that breaks down fibers, reduces fibrotic changes and improves the quality of superficial irregularities. They can be used as a standalone treatment or as part of combination protocols for more stubborn scars.
Say goodbye to scars!
The first results are visible after 3-4 weeks, and full regeneration is expected after 2-3 months - depending on the treatment method used. Deeper and older scars require several treatment sessions, as well as more time for the skin to produce new collagen.
At the St. Catherine Skin & Regenerative Clinic, we combine individualized therapy, a multidisciplinary medical approach, and the most advanced next-generation technologies. The result is clearly visible, natural, and long-lasting improvement in the structure and appearance of your skin!
