Excochleation of condylomas and molluscum

What is excochleation?
It is a treatment used to remove the most common lesions such as molluscum (water warts) and condylomas (genital warts). The procedure involves applying a local anesthetic cream to the skin, thorough cleaning and using an instrument with a small sharp spoon to scrape off the lesion(s) from the skin causing them to fall off.
The procedure lasts for a few minutes and it does not leave scars. After the treatment appropriate skin care is recommended to prevent possible complications.
