An examination by dermatology specialist

Healthy skin is not only an aesthetic ideal but also an important indicator of the body’s overall condition. As the largest organ of the human body, the skin reflects the internal balance of the organism, including hormonal status, hydration levels, dietary habits, as well as the impact of external factors. For this reason, changes on the skin can often be the first signs of certain health or metabolic disorders, as well as indicators of lifestyle and the aging process.

Dermatologist examination - St. Catherine

A dermatological examination focuses on assessing the health of the skin and scalp as important indicators of biological aging, overall health, and quality of life. It is recommended to have this examination at least once a year, regardless of age or the presence of symptoms, as only regular check-ups allow for the timely detection of changes in the skin, scalp, nails, and mucous membranes, as well as monitoring existing conditions over time.

The examination consists of a clinical assessment of the skin and scalp, dermatoscopic evaluation of moles, hyperpigmentation and other skin changes, or digital mole mapping, assessment of signs of chronic and photoaging and biological aging using OBSERV facial skin analysis, trichoscopic analysis of the scalp and hair, and individualized recommendations. Special attention is given to moles, as early detection of altered moles is crucial for the prevention and successful treatment of skin cancer.

What to expect during the examination?

  • A dermatological examination does not require special preparation - however, it is recommended that patients avoid using topical skin products for several days before the appointment so the dermatologist can accurately assess the true condition of the skin. The examination may include the evaluation of various skin concerns, pigmentation issues, newly developed changes, as well as scalp-related conditions.

The skin examination can be performed with the naked eye, a dermatoscope, or the advanced FotoFinder system for full-body digital mapping. Following the assessment, a final or preliminary diagnosis is made, and, if necessary, recommendations are provided for additional tests to establish a definitive diagnosis.

The examination of the hair and scalp represents the first and crucial step in understanding issues related to the hair and scalp.

By using specialized methods, it is possible to accurately identify the underlying causes of hair and scalp issues. The examination can be performed with a manual or digital trichoscope, supported by TricoLab software to create a digital trichogram. This detailed insight allows not only for addressing existing problems but also for planning preventive strategies to maintain healthy and strong hair over the years.

Maintaining skin, hair and scalp health through the longevity approach

Within the Longevity approach special emphasis is placed on prevention, continuous monitoring and individualized recommendations aimed at maintaining healthy, functional, and resilient skin, hair and scalp.

If changes are detected during the examination that require further evaluation, the dermatologist may recommend additional diagnostic procedures or a therapeutic approach tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

Regular check-ups make it possible to detect changes on the skin early, prevent the development of more serious conditions, and receive expert recommendations for the long-term maintenance of healthy skin and hair.
