24-hour Blood Pressure Holter and Reading

Because blood pressure has its daily rhythm, and is highest in the morning, and lowest during the night, examination keeps track of blood pressure during 24 hours. In patients with arterial hypertension this normal pressure rhythm can be reversed, so this examination can give us precious information on how to set the therapy. If one does not have a physiological (normal) blood pressure values drop in late night hours, it can indicate that the patient has high risk to develop so called “early-morning incidents”, heart attack and stroke.
