Ingrown Toenail
An ingrown nail is a condition in which the edge of the nail (usually on the big toe) grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness, and swelling. This condition can result from improper nail trimming, wearing tight footwear, or injuries. An ingrown nail can lead to infection if not properly treated, potentially causing further complications. Treatment typically involves conservative measures such as soaking the affected area in saline water and/or partial or total nail ablation, which involves removing the nail or the portion that is growing into the surrounding tissue.
