Hirschsprung's disease (Morbus Hirschsprung)
Hirschsprung's disease is a congenital anomaly where nerve cells are absent in the lower part of the colon, disrupting normal peristalsis and stool passage. This condition is typically diagnosed in the neonatal period or early childhood, as it causes prolonged constipation, bloating, and sometimes vomiting. Treatment involves the surgical removal of the affected portion of the colon.
