Incision of abscess and furuncle

A limited accumulation of pus in the skin, which can affect any part of the skin, is called an abscess. The most common signs are swelling and pain, and the diagnosis is made during the examination. Treatment is by incision and drainage.

A surgical incision is made with the injection of a local anesthetic in case of some cystic changes or atheroma on the skin. A vertical incision is made and the change is removed in its entirety, and then the wound is surgically treated with suturing and sterile dressing.
