Differences between standard ACP, ACP Angel and ACP Max

The distinctions between standard ACP, ACP Angel and ACP Max systems lie in blood processing technology, platelet and growth factor concentration, the ability to customize treatments to meet specific needs of patient, and ultimately, in their application and effectiveness. Read on to learn more about the differences between these three innovative treatment methods.

Blood processing technology

  • Standard ACP uses a simpler centrifugation system, where blood is quickly processed to obtain platelet-rich plasma. This method is fast and straightforward but lacks high precision in separating and concentrating platelets.
  • Angel ACP uses more sophisticated technology that enables programmable separation of blood components, providing highly precise control over platelet, leukocyte, and plasma concentrations. It is ideal for treatments requiring specific levels of leukocytes (for anti-inflammatory or pro-regenerative effects).
  • ACP Max is an enhanced version of ACP that uses advanced dual-centrifugation technology. This method combines the simplicity of standard ACP with additional optimizations, resulting in higher platelet and growth factor concentrations without the need for complex programming, as with the Angel system.

Platelet and growth factor concentration

  • Standard ACP offers good platelet concentration, but it may be limited and lower compared to the Angel or ACP Max systems, often requiring 3 to 5 injections spaced a week apart to achieve the desired therapeutic dose.
  • Angel ACP allows for high platelet concentration and precise adjustment of leukocyte levels, making it suitable for cases where both high platelet and leukocyte concentrations are important. Typically, one injection is used.
  • ACP Max significantly increases platelet and growth factor concentration compared to standard ACP, while achieving high platelet concentration and a low leukocyte count. Typically, one injection is used, especially in cases where a high platelet concentration with low leukocyte levels is desired.

Treatment customization

  • Standard ACP has limited customization options. The process is standardized, resulting in a similar platelet concentration for all patients, with no ability to tailor it to the specific needs of each patient.
  • Angel ACP is the most flexible system, allowing physicians to precisely control platelet and leukocyte concentrations, which can be crucial in complex tissue regeneration cases.
  • ACP Max offers better customization of platelet concentration compared to standard ACP, but without the complexity of the Angel system. This makes it a practical and effective choice for a wide range of patients and orthopedic conditions, focusing on improving outcomes without the need for complicated adjustments.

Effectiveness and application

  • Standard ACP is a good choice for less demanding cases, such as early-stage osteoarthritis or mild tendon injuries.
  • Angel ACP is ideal for more complex cases, such as severe tendinopathies, cartilage regeneration, or recovery after major surgeries, where high control over therapeutic component concentration is needed.
  • ACP Max combines the benefits of both systems, offering higher concentration and effectiveness than standard ACP, but with simpler and more accessible application than Angel ACP. It is best suited for patients seeking advanced therapy without the need for extremely specific customization as with Angel ACP.

In simpler terms, ACP Max outperforms standard ACP by offering a higher concentration of platelets and growth factors, leading to better tissue regeneration outcomes. Compared to Angel ACP, ACP Max is easier to administer while still providing a higher level of therapeutic effectiveness than standard ACP, making it an ideal solution for patients needing a balance between high efficiency and treatment simplicity.
