Instructions for endovenous laser ablation - preoperative preparation

It's essential to perform a Doppler ultrasound examination first to determine if there is venous insufficiency and which vein is causing it. Then, a vascular surgeon, depending on Doppler ultrasound and of the actual physical examination results, decides on the most optimal treatment.

Depending on the treatment method and patient's overall health condition, it is then assessed whether additional diagnostic and laboratory work is required.

No special preoperative preparation is required, but eating and drinking 6 hours before the procedure is not allowed.

Patient’s measurements for the compression socks are taken as he/she will have to wear them after the procedure.
