Tamara Vasilj, M.D., Specialist in Hematology, joined the team of St. Catherine Specialty Hospital in the end of 2025.
Tamara Vasilj, M.D., Specialist in Hematology, is a physician with many years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant and non-malignant hematologic diseases, with a particular interest in acute leukemias, myeloid neoplasms, and toxicities of modern oncologic therapies.
She graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2014 and began her professional career at University Hospital Dubrava, where she has undergone all levels of professional training since 2016 and now works as a specialist at the Department of Hematology.
She has additionally trained in international centers of excellence, most notably through a one-year stay at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute in the USA (as part of a program dedicated to myeloid malignancies), as well as research work at the Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute in Paris.
Her scientific work includes authorship and co-authorship of several papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and she regularly participates in professional meetings. She is a member of the Croatian Society of Hematology, the Croatian Cooperative Group for Hematologic Diseases (KROHEM), the European Hematology Association (EHA), the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), the International Academy for Clinical Hematology (IACH), the CIBMTR Acute Leukemia Working Committee, and the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP).
