Indian Minister Meenakshi Lekhi have visited the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture of India visited the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital, the European center of excellence for personalized medicine.
The State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture of India Meenakshi Lekhi is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia and today she visited the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital, the European center of excellence for personalized medicine. During the visit, Minister Lekhi was received by the president of the Board of Directors of the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital prof. Dragan Primorac, M.D., Ph.D. and introduced to the projects of whole genome analysis in clinical practice, treatment of osteoarthritis with mesenchymal stem cells, genetic predictive tests, pharmacogenomics and other projects through which the St. Catherine Hospital has worldwide recognition. Prof. Primorac also highlighted the excellent cooperation he has with Indian scientists, especially in the field of human genome analysis and forensic science.
Ambassador Srivastava once again pointed out that a little over a year ago, due to his special merits in the development of forensic sciences, Prof. Dragan Primorac was awarded the honorary title of professor emeritus of the "National Forensic Science University" in India, as the first European. The University is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs of India and by the decision of the Indian Parliament, the University was declared an institution of special national interest and strategic importance for India.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Lekhi invited Prof. Dragan Primorac to visit India in order to exchange experiences with Indian colleagues, especially in the field of human genome analysis.
