Volunteer process for volunteers that will chaperone or spend unsupervised time with students:

  • Go to the school office and pick up the following three items: 1) volunteer application form (must be returned to the office); this form can also be downloaded from www.adw.org 2) a child protection policy booklet that contains an acknowledgment form on the last page that must be signed and returned to the office 3) a criminal background authorization form that has been signed by Mrs. Consilvio and will be needed for the fingerprinting appointment.
  • Register for an account at www.virtus.org and sign up for the course, “Protecting God’s Children for Adults”.
  • Once the above steps have been completed, and the school office has updated the Virtus account, call the office of volunteer services at 301-853-5363 or 301-853-5381, M-F 8:30-5:00 to schedule a fingerprinting session.
  • NOTE: you will need the following documents for the fingerprinting appointment:
    • Criminal background authorization form with Mrs. Consilvio’s signature
    • Check or money order made payable to CJIS for $36
    • Valid photo ID

Here is additional information from the Archdiocese regarding fingerprinting appointments:

In preparation for the new school year, we have made available another method to request a fingerprinting appointment. Employees and volunteers, who need to make a fingerprinting appointment, may request an appointment via our website, www.adw.org. Once on the home page, click on “Child Protection Policy” and then click on “Fingerprinting Appointment Preference Form.” Completing this form will assist us in determining the most convenient time and location for fingerprints to be taken. Individuals will be contacted within two business days to schedule an appointment. Click here to submit a request online for a fingerprinting appointment.

As a reminder, all employees and volunteers who have substantial contact with children must comply with the Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy. For more information, please visit www.adw.org.
