Purchasing SCRIP is a great and easy way to support Saint Catherine's! Here's how it works: HSA purchases shopping cards from a variety of popular stores at a discounted rate, including grocery and hardware stores, restaurants, etc. and in turn, sells them to buyers at face value. The difference between the discounted price and the face value of the card is the profit that goes directly to our school.
There is no registration or card fee, and you pay the amount you would normally pay to shop. The face value of the card you purchase through HSA is what you pay, and is what is available to spend. Before you run out to the store again, make sure you purchase SCRIP from the school ahead of time!

The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul are women urged by the charity of Christ to reach out to those most in need. Sisters from the South East Province serve in Florida, Georgia, the Carolina’s, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. Daughters Of Charity Sisters are also active in ministries in Haiti, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, and Taiwan as well as other parts of the world.
Daughters Of Charity are advocates for women and children, teachers, parish administrators, social workers, health care providers, and care givers for the elderly. The Sisters live in community that energizes them to love, to share, and to serve each other as well as our brothers and sisters who are poor.
Endowment Fund in Honor of the Daughters of Charity
The Endowment Fund is a Parish effort to provide a financial base for the benefit of SCL School. The Endowment Fund will be used to sustain the Catholic education of children of financially challenged parents at SCL School. The Endowment Fund will allow children, who wouldn’t otherwise be able, the benefit of a Catholic education.
The Present Endowment Goal is One million Dollars ($1,000,000). Upon attaining this goal, the annual interest , dividend or profit earned on the endowment fund deposits and investments may be distributed for the purpose of the Endowment Fund.
To date far the Endowment Fund has awarded four (4) partial scholarships to students based on parishioner status, financial need and essay writing
Thus far, parishioners, school families, alumni, grandparents, relatives, and friends in the form of cash pledges, checks, and direct deposits have made contributions to the Fund. Gifts from organizations, matching gifts, annual gift giving and memorial contributions are welcomed by the Fund. The Bozzuto Group has become a contributing member of the Endowment fund.
There are a number of other special ways to contribute to the Fund. Donations may be made to honor the memory of loved ones, or individuals may contribute to the Saint Catherine Laboure´ Brick Project. A contribution of $100 places the name of your choice on an inscribed brick that will be located at one of a number of visible designated areas on the school grounds.
The Endowment Fund is managed and administered by the Pastor through an Advisory Board selected by the Pastor. The Advisory Board adheres to a set of by-laws approved by the Archdiocese of Washington. Copies of the by-laws are available by calling the Endowment Office. All funds are being invested conservatively through Wacovia Securities in short-term funds with the primary objective of preserving capital.
